THE BEAR - BEARWOOD (supporting PAINTER)
Our first gig with Painter since 1996!. Thankfully a large crowd turned up to see them and some came to see us!
Again we were plauged by sound problems, the drum kit was micked and it drowned out some of the vocals. On the quiet bits you could hear some lovely harmonies from Ella. This gig was also notable for Paul's vocal debut with us as he performed "Tidal Wave" very commendably. Although he did veer into pub singer mode once! It was Craig's last gig with us before he goes Down Under, he's a brilliant drummer and will be missed!
Two new songs at this gig our cover of Cameo's "Word Up" and our own "Beautiful",a ballad which builds into a cresendo of drumming and then drifts into quiet passion. It seemed to go down well!
All in all , everyone seemed pleased with things and we even got some compliments on our own songs from the crowd. Painter came on and played a great set of covers to which we danced the night away. A great night!
