Harborne Carnival 2004 - a struggle overcome!
The Green Man stage- June 27th 2004
This was a gig that nearly didn't happen! We had been rehearsing with Heath Laight on drums for this gig when on the Monday before the gig he mailed us to say he couldn't do any more gigs with his main band Anarakula and also us!
OK ,six days to go and no drummer! After a drummer-less rehearsal with Dionne Deveraux joing us on vocals, a last minute replacement was found.
One rehearsal with Stuart from The Orphans and the next day we had a gig. Talk about pressure! The lad did well and it didn't sound like he'd only reharsed with us once at all.
The sun shone, a crowd gathered by the pub. (Always handy having a stage by a pub!) and we did our thing. As usual, sound problems meant that we couldn't hear ourselves on stage, but the audience said they could hear us fine. All in all we pulled this one out of the fire.
