The Fools in action! No, we don't know what the flags were doing there either! (photo by Bari )

THE FOOLS ROCK A FULL HOUSE!

A great gig at the Red Lion! This was mainly because it was full. Chairs and tables had to be moved upstairs and even then people were standing at the back!

So a BIG THANK YOU!goes out to all who turned up. We even had a small American contingent , maybe apt that the US flag was behind us for some strange reason. Anyway, the bill changed slightly as Cat was replaced by her sister Tara Chinn. My goodness, this girl's got a powerful voice and she entertained us with her own acoustic rock songs. Currently writing and recording in the States, she should go far! Next up was our mates Ethel Vince with a set culled from their own rather fine album"Paper Trail" and some covers. Thanks for doing Mike Peters' "Breathe" guys! Do check em out , see the Links page for their site.

We got a positive resonse to our set, there was even a little dancing and singing along to the covers we played. A big thanks to Ian Rushbury from Anarakula, for helping us out on his drum and arsenal of percussion. He even contributed some backing vocals, what a talented chap! This set saw the debut of our new song "Walls", which features a moody bass intro and a storming ending with great vocals on the chorus from Ella and Steve. The crowd seemed to like it. We even did it again as an encore, as part of the crowd wanted one. We decided to do it again as we needed the practice! Overall a great night was had by all, I think.

Update on "Tidal Wave": It didn't make it to the final ten in the Radio 2 songwriters competition. Shame.
