Rockin in the Lion's Den!

The Lion's Den.Red Lion - Hockley, Birmingham. 24th September 2005

Another rockin night at the Red Lion.We played the set that we should have played at the Harborne Carnival. This gig saw us joined by local drummer Nick Griffiths,who also plays with blues and jazz bands.The lad played well and we rocked! We were also joined by our buddy Ian Rushbury ,who came along to see us and ended up joining us for "Hereos".He won the raffle too! Nice comments from some of the audience after the gig too -which despite a few mistakes (from yours truly- the new guitar hasn't been worn in yet!) suggested that the evening was a success. Great support from Steve Brown and Dan Wilkins ,whose the only kora player I've ever seen.They played an interesting and eclectic set. Our second support came from a great steel guitar player and a bluesy vocalist called Kenny and Kirsty . Kenny's playing impressed me a lot- great to hear a national steel for a change. All in all one of the most varied and entertaining nights we've played at, in t'lion!
