February 2006

I write on a freezing February day, but some encouragment has warmed me up. Despite a fairly tenuous start a few people have been buying the album and now we have had some feedback from BBC Radio2 producer Phil Swern, who produces the Bob Harris show. He's not exactly bowled over by the material. Maybe, as its not alt country or American sounding, it's not to the show's taste? However, he does say we have "potential" and asks us to send any future recordings. Whilst I'm dissapointed he thinks we can't be played on the show, I'm encouraged he hasn't slammed the door in our face! Indeed we are working on new songs now and hope to play them soon.

In other news, unfortunately Christine Collister turned down the songs I sent to her. However, local independant record company, Gotham Records is interested in licensing and promoting "Tidal Wave" for a compilation CD of Birmingham bands. So we'll see how that goes.

Please come and see us on Saturday March 4th at the Red Lion, Warstone Lane. The turn out was so bad last time, we need a bit of an encouraging audience!

All the best
Mark
