"We'll never make the X-Factor looking like this!" (pic by Paul Harwood)
Well just a quickie to say "happy new year" and we have some developments. First off "our Ella" has returned from her honeymoon in New Zealand, she will now be Mrs Creedy! We missed her at the last gig, so its good to have her back. Secondly, Mr Rushbury has opted to join us for some forthcoming gigs and potential recording "action!" and will have the opportunity of showing off his new electric kit, trying to re-create that legendary "pidoo!" "Ring My Bell", sound from 1979!
We have a new show booked for The Rainbow in Digbeth, please come along (see home page). We also have a major gig at the esteemed Midlands Arts Centre on April 2nd. We will be doing a special acoustic performance and it'll be great to play this venue. We very much hope you'll join us for a very special evening. Details of tickets will be forthcoming. We also had some pics done for the brouchure, one of which is above, some others will be appearing on this site soon.
A few promo copies of our album have leaked out into the big wide world, but as yet we havn't heard anything back, except a rather good 4 star review on reviewed4U.com , which, as its out of five is pretty good.
The Valuable Fools – The Valuable Fools
"An unsigned songwriting project and band from the West Midlands. This debut album demonstrates the breadth of writing and playing, from a Hip Hop song to Classic Rock/ U2 guitar stylings. Guest vocalists add to the mix. The material is Radio 2 friendly with great atmospheric edges to it. The brooding “Falling Down” with its soundscape effects and soaring viola is a prime example. All in all a promising debut full of variety and textures."
In other news, "Hungry For Your Love" and "Beautiful", (which,
Steve tells me, is rated by a Sky sports head honcho) have been submitted to that
underated singer Christine
Collister, for possible inclusion on her next album. If anything happens
we'll let you know.
We also hope to have some new songs for you soon.
We are hoping for a new look website this year, so keep 'em skinned.
All the best
Mark
